Weighing scales are used for so many applications within the agricultural industry. Whatever your job within agriculture - whether you run a farm or you're in a lab weighing analysing moisture content of farm produce, we've the weighing equipment you need. Our most popular weighing scales for agriculture are included in this section.

Scales for animal farming

The Scaletec range of scales for animal farming includes the PT Platform Scales and the CPWPlus L Floor Scales. Both are suitable for weighing animals of different sizes - you just need to choose the right capacity and platform dimensions for your needs.

Weighing scales like Adam Equipment's PT platform scales are ideal for weighing larger farm animals, and CPWPlus scales are suitable for weighing smaller animals. Alternatively, the AELP Pallet Weigh Bars can be used to weigh larger animals when you need portability and flexibility - many farms use weigh beams to weigh animals in conjunction with a large plant of wood for the animal to step onto.

Who uses agricultural and farming scales?

Whilst these scales are primarily designed with farmers in mind, they are often used within a wide variety of outdoor environments. We have compiled a short list of some of the most popular uses/industries that use agricultural and farming scales:

Wineries: Wineries use these scales to measure quantities of grapes used for producing barrels of wine and alcohol.

Crop farmers: Similar to wineries, farmers that grow wheat, maize, cereals and other grains will use weighing scales to ensure that each bundle of grain is of optimum weight. Moisture analysers and other scales such as the CQT grain scales can be used to detect the weight of yields or measure the total moisture content in each batch.

Horticulture/ gardening: Agricultural scales are particularly useful in gardening or horticulture for measuring quantities of fertilizer. Moreover, some scales are used to weigh the added chemicals, such as lime, that go into fertilizers to ensure that they remain at the correct PH level for growing particular crops.

Orchards: Fruit orchard workers will use scales to weigh sacks of fruit after picking. Depending on the type of fruit, fertilizer ingredients may also be weighed to ensure the correct soil PH level.
