Table Top & Bench Scales Help

Q: What are the advantages of using a bench scale?

A: Bench scales are highly versatile weighing machines that are suited to numerous environments including warehouses, professional kitchens and shops. Moreover, these scales can offer a variety of special weighing applications including percentage weighing, checkweighing and parts counting.

Parts counting eliminates the need for manual counting procedures and can greatly reduce manual labour and keep costs down.

Checkweighing is used to ensure that large-scale product manufacturing operations run smoothly, and that each product meets the pre-determined weight before it is packed and distributed.

Percentage weighing is particularly useful for procedures that require multiple components to be weighed as part of a formula. For example, if mixing paints, you may want to combine 2 parts red paint, with 1 part blue and 3 parts water. By assigning 1 part as a percentage, it is possible to accurately calculate the correct product consistency every time.

In addition, certain bench scale models come complete with NRCS trade approvals for buying and selling products by weight.
